From October 21st to 24th of 2010, we will be hosting the 9th International Medical Symposium on VHL, and the 3rd VHL Family meeting, in Rio de Janeiro. These meetings intend to promote a broad discussion about how we can ultimately improve the quality of living of VHL carriers, from early diagnosis to individualized approach for treating associated hereditary tumors. Doctors and scientists from five continents will gather by the Copacabana beach to exchange experiences and build up the knowledge about VHL. 9th International Medical Symposium on VHL On October 22nd, first day of the symposium, the focus will be Basic Research, and on October 23rd, second day of the symposium, the focus will be Clinical Research, with emphasis on disease manifestations, such as renal and pancreatic cancers and cysts, the retinal angiomas and SNC hemangioblastomas, the pheochromocytoma, and others. 3rd VHL Family meeting The Meeting of VHL Families will be on October 24, 2010 and aims to encourage interaction among families and participate in those studies and new developments in the treatment.
